In DNA era, police print lab still crime-solving workhorse

Greater Portland's metropolitan crime laboratory has in the past 2 1/2 years linked fingerprints taken from 295 crime scenes to prints collected at the county jail, identifying suspects and closing cases.

Night photography made easy


If you’re having problems getting photos after dark of anything from auto accidents to crime scenes both indoor and outdoor,  you should look into attending our Basic Digital Photography for Law Enforcement class. The photo below was taken by Officer Andrew Homestead of the Duxbury MA PD  the week after completing that class. This is a night time shot using department equipment he brought to the class; he learned this basic technique in one of the workshops, and has been putting it to good use!
