Drew Webb

Drew Webb has been involved in the photographic industry for over 40 years, including working as a professional photographer doing commercial and advertising work, portraiture, sports, and wedding photography. He has been a technical sales and service representative for photographic products to the graphic arts, scientific, law enforcement, security/identification, professional photographic markets, and has been working with digital imaging technology in these fields since the late 1980’s. Drew has been

teaching law enforcement photography since 1973, starting in New England by teaching with the regional FBI photographic training Special Agent as part of a nationwide program to standardize and improve evidence gathering. These courses were taught under the FBI’s auspices, and were presented in the Academies of each of the New England states. In the 34 years since then, thousands of officers have participated in these and other programs taught or managed by Drew. In 1978, Drew founded the first Polaroid Corporation law enforcement marketing group, and since then has participated and consulted in the design and development of several law enforcement photography products and technologies. He has served on the advisory board of the Hallmark Institute of Professional Photography in Turners Falls, MA, is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Photography Hall of Fame, and is active in industry and technology associations in both law enforcement and photography.

Drew is also a seasoned business management, sales, and marketing professional. In his 30 years in the photographic industry, Drew’s broad experience ranged from his initial work as a commercial photographer to a series of posts with Polaroid Corporation in the technical sales and marketing arena. His areas of proven expertise include marketing to the scientific, medical, commercial, graphic arts, and technical photography communities. He has created and led sales and marketing teams, introduced numerous new products, led OEM technology transfer and sales groups, and managed technology based business units, as well as the General Managers of them. These businesses played a key role in Polaroid’s overall ID and Security marketing strategy, whereby Polaroid camera technology and films became the dominant image recording modality. He was the marketing manager for all industrial and commercial photo systems, leading Polaroid to a dominant position in those fields, and has taught law enforcement and crime scene photography techniques over a period spanning 30 years. His experience and expertise in the field of computer technology and digital imaging is much in demand in today’s changing law enforcement and security applications. His last assignment at Polaroid included management of a $120 million business and coordinating its transition to digital technology.

In 1998, after 25 years with Polaroid Corporation, Drew left the company and shortly thereafter was a founder of two Internet vertical portals serving the Law Enforcement and Security Industry fields, BadgeBoys and Security Edge, along with partners retired from the FBI and from US Army Intelligence. He has since served as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Integrated Biometric Technology of Nashville, Tennessee, the premier maker and marketer of LiveScan fingerprint capture workstations and networks, and originally an FCANE client. IBT serves customers in both law enforcement and in the private sector, where it specializes in customized computer systems and networks for applicant fingerprinting use for companies in the financial services area.

Drew holds a MBA from Northeastern University, Boston MA, and has successfully completed seminars in International Marketing from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH..
