George J. DiMatteo

George J. DiMatteo retired from the FBI in December 2002.  During his twenty-two year career, Mr. DiMatteo was a member of the Boston Division Evidence Response Team with expertise as a Special Agent Bomb Technician.  His many hours of FBI training in all facets of crime scene matters and post blast investigations coupled with his experience as an investigator at numerous crime scenes has produced a well-qualified instructor.  He was selected by the FBI to teach investigative techniques to foreign police departments in host countries such as Russia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Paraguay.  He was also chosen to teach at the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia. When not occupied at a crime scene or at a crime scene school, Mr. DiMatteo was case agent on a wide variety of federal crimes to include, kidnapping, bank robbery, and his personal favorite “white collar frauds.”  Doing and teaching are in his blood according to Mr. DiMatteo.    In retirement Mr. DiMatteo teaches crime scene photography, crime scene administration and management, and when not working for Forensic Consulting Associates of New England, Mr. DiMatteo, who is licensed to teach mathematics in Massachusetts, tutors math to middle school, high school, and college students. 

Mr. DiMatteo proudly served his county from 1966 to 1971 in the United States Marine Corps. He served for twenty months in Vietnam where he attained the rank of Captain.  He remained in the inactive reserves until 1980 when he was sworn in as a Special Agent of the FBI.
